Candlestick Maker Australia brings together a few of my passions: 

• Pure Candle Light,

• Beekeeping &

• Artisan Handcrafts.

From my obsession with beeswax Candlelight to Candlestick Maker:  I've always loved candle light. Allergies slowly drove me out of retail candle stores due to problems with paraffin wax and heavy fragrance loads. So that was that!

​

In 2008 I started beekeeping.  My first honey harvest netted me 25 kilos of pure golden honey, and just under a kilo of wax.  The honey was delicious and made great Christmas gifts.  But, it was the wax that captivated my imagination. 

 

Inspired by the golden wax I began a journey to learn to produce beeswax candles - from the hive to golden flame. 

 

Every point along the journey matters.

 

I've now taught myself to:

• Process & refine beeswax using only heat, water & time. 

• The science of melt points, combustion, wick sizes and more. 

• To manage over 15 wick sizes: each used for a different diameter candle, and adjusted for tapers, pillars, and containers.

• The ancient tradition of hand dipping tapers. 

• Design and package in an way that is simple, eco-conscious and appealing to customers.

My need for wax soon outstripped my production capacity. I've developed relationships with a number of Victorian Beekeepers. I make sure you get the purest wax - straight from local hives.

Australia Bees live and work close to home: collecting nectar and pollen while giving back to the environment by pollinating fruits and seeds. 

 

Candlestick Maker Australia shares this philosophy, and I make this commitment to you:

• to source those Wax as locally as possible.

• to continue to craft locally and by hand.

• to supporting local beekeepers and communities.
